2016 New Year’s Resolutions.

I have no idea how to start a blog post.

Hello to all my fantastic readers!

So we are officially 5 days into the new year and I know this post should have been up on the first already but I feel that in order to successfully accomplish New Year’s resolutions, you need to think them through very carefully before you commit. So here are my 5 resolutions:

  1. Be More Thankful & Do More For Others.

Last year was an extremely good year for me. I was fortunate enough to explore new places within my city, I was accepted to university and will officially be a double major in English and Language & Communication studies in just 3 years (eeeek.), I had a successful laparoscopy and my family is healthy and happy. This year I would just really like to give back to others and do more charity or volunteer work so that I can help those in need and also grow more as an individual.

2. Get out of my shell & say yes to more things.

This was always a problem for me because I am such an introvert. Seriously, if you’ve ever heard the song “Here” by Alessia Cara, you’ve basically heard the theme song of my life. This year I would really like to go out with friends and just have good fun. I want to be more spontaneous when it comes to doing things that I’d usually say no to. Not this year though. This year I will be turning 20, it’s time to live a little!

3. T R A V E L.

I have never traveled before, however I was fortunate enough to get on a plane and go to a different city. I just really want to explore and go to new places this year so I can make the most out of all the amazing opportunities to travel. “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page”. My boyfriend better be ready for lots of adventures, because I’ve saved up a lot of petrol money!

4. Eat Healthier & Exercise More.

Probably the most cliche of all my resolutions but this one is important. I don’t want to drop pounds and be skinny, I just want to be healthy. If I can lose weight because of the habits I develop, great. Adapting to university life was really hard for me and I would usually eat unhealthy foods which lead to me being very sick at one point. I do not want to make the same mistake this year, so I will definitely be changing that up. I really want to drink more water because I still have acne at the age of 19 and I am often dehydrated and reach for fizzy drinks.

5. Work harder on my blog and YouTube Channel.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve neglected my blog quite a bit. It saddens me that life got in the way of doing what I love. I started a new YouTube channel in September and since then I have gained 30 subscribers which I am so proud of because I work really hard on my videos and put a lot of effort into my editing and filming. This year I’d like to focus on both my writing and my videos and hopefully build up the confidence to create a portfolio.
