Mother’s Day Cocktail Recipes: Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic

I understand that not everybody can afford to spoil their mom by taking them out for a treat, so I thought I’d throw together a few cocktail recipes for an easy at home late lunch or dinner. What I like about these recipes is that a cocktail can be decorated so beautifully, have the simplest ingredients and still taste AMAZING.

Mother’s Day Morning Mimosas (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic)

1 part orange juice

1 part champagne

So basically it’s half and half. Feel free to garnish with cherries, strawberries or any fruit of your choice. I personally do not like garnish when mimosas are served in champagne glasses because I feel like it always gets in the way.

1 part orange juice

1 part sparkling white grape juice

Personally I think that the dryer the sparkling white grape juice, the better. Sometimes sparkling white grape juice is way too sweet. My favourite has to be Moni’s sparkling range of juices. Pure bliss.

3 parts pineapple juice

1 part white rum

1 part coconut cream

Add all ingredients to a blender and serve. Garnish as much as you would like but it’s your preference.

3 parts pineapple/cocopine fizzy drink

1 part ice-cream

A pineapple fizzy drink float? YUM. Love the fact that it’s so easy and there’s no alcohol needed.

In a blender, combine ice, sugar and strawberries. Pour in lime juice, lemon juice, rum and lemon-lime soda. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Combine ice, strawberry juice/mixed berry juice. For a fizzy drink effect, add plain lemonade (like Sprite) and blend. Serve chilled and garnish.

Hope this post wasn’t up too late, being in South Africa it is quite difficult to relate to time zones.
