TRESemmé Expert Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System Review & Demo

DISCLAIMER: I was chosen by Beauty Bulletin to review this range, therefore this post is sponsored and in collaboration with Beauty Bulletin: Beauty Bulletin Website

Hello all my beautiful readers!

Happy Tuesday, I hope your week didn’t start off as terribly as mine did. I was in bed with a terrible stomach bug yesterday, and let me tell you it was no joke. However, I’m sure most of my readers are eager to know what the verdict is regarding Last Week’s Blog Post

I GOT MY DRIVER’S LICENSE!

Now that all the news is finally out of the way, we can move on to my demo and review. I have a YouTube video with the live demo which you can watch down below:

The following products were included in the package from Beauty Bulletin:

  • 4 x Hair Clips
  • A glass jar filled with bobby pins (thank the heavens because I lose things like crazy)
  • 2 x hair elastics, the ones that resemble the old school phone cords.
  • Step 1: Beauty-Full Volume conditioner
  • Step 2: Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo
  • Mousse
  • Hair Maximizer.

These are what the products look like, in the order they are supposed to be used in. These are pictured below:

I would first like to stress the fact that this is indeed a REVERSE system, which means that conditioner is applied before shampoo. This was a bit tricky for me because I am not used to this, but the reason for it is because conditioner tends to weigh the hair down and strips your hair of all the bounce and volume it deserves!

I will be reviewing each product individually.

Conditioner: This was not as heavy as most conditioners are and it smelled absolutely amazing. I wish I could bottle this scent and where it everywhere if I could. This was great because my hair did not feel heavy and oily as it usually does when I wear conditioner. I’m not too sure about the price but I think it’s R69,99 in selected stores.

Shampoo: Smells just as amazing as the conditioner. The only thing I found weird about this product was that the bottles are 2 different containers. The conditioner is pump activated while the shampoo has the OG pop cap. Usually, with most of the TRESemmé products I have used, both bottles are the same. But I’m not complaining though, I love them both. If I’m not mistaken, this retails for about R69,99 in stores.

Hair Mousse: If you watched my demo on YouTube, in which you caught a glimpse of my naturally curly hair (cringes), you would have noticed that I struggles with the pump of the mousse. It took some elbow grease and some serious work to pop this bad boy open! Eventually when it did come out, it spilled everywhere (as a result of me not shaking the bottle). When I applied it over my hair and combed the product through, I had to get up and wash my hands because my hands were too sticky to touch anything which did put me off a bit. This was the only thing I could fault for the range as a whole. This retails for R59,00 in selected stores.

Hair Maximizer: I’m not exactly sure what this product was supposed to do, but eventually I figured it was supposed to be some sort of heat protect or add extra bounce. Personally I feel that the range could have done without this product but it’s still great either way. This retails for R49,99 in selected stores.

Well, that was my demo and review. If you do watch my video, please don’t forget to thumbs up and subscribe to my channel to see more content not often posted on my blog.

September Favourites & Surprise Announcement!

Hello and welcome back to a bran new post, beautiful!

So before I start rambling on about my new found September Favourites, I would just like to announce that I have my own domain! I am now available at http://sincerelydeeanne.co.za and I also have a giveaway happening in a week or two, so if you would like to enter then head over to my Instagram where the giveaway will be happening.

So I know September isn’t exactly over yet, however, due to the fact that I’m going to be extremely busy filming and working on getting my drivers, I can’t promise it will be up when September ends! So here we go:

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Correct & Perfect CC Cream in Medium:

Recently I’ve been loving the “no make-up” make-up look where I don’t want to go through the effort of putting on a full face but at the same time I still want to look somewhat presentable with a light blush. So this is where my CC cream comes in, it has all the coverage of a foundation without feeling so heavy on my skin. Some people complain that it leaves their skin a bit oily but I’ve never had this problem. Thumbs up from me! This retails for about R99,95

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser:

I love having flawless looking skin, unfortunately I have huge pores and it often looks like I have holes in my face. Ever since I’ve heard about the Maybelline Baby Skin, I had to get my hands on it. It really does leave my skin with a flawless finish and I love a good bargain for only R80

Michelle Ori Paris Eyeliner In Feliner:

If you guys missed my Kendall Jenner Inspired Look, I used the Michelle Ori Paris Eyeliner to wing my eyes. I was featured on rubybox beauty’s newsletter and on Yardley London SA’s Instagram page. Check out the link to watch it.

Design Compact Powder in Soft Beige:

Who doesn’t love a good setting powder? I love the fact that this powder from Edgars is extremely affordable and not that hard to find since their are so many Edgars branches which have a make-up table. This powder prevents make-up from caking on my face and also gives me a less dewy finish if I don’t feel like a glowing face.

Essence All That Greys Lipgloss In 01 Roaring Red:

I feel that this lipgloss is more purple than red. I used this in my Vampy Burgandy Winter Make-Up Tutorial & Bold Lashes

I love this lipgloss because it lasts extremely long and doesn’t dry out my lips like most lipglosses do. I love how sleek it looks and super ready for the Fall. Try it out for yourself! This was about R49,95, however this range has been discontinued.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer:

BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. I wasn’t a huge fan of concealer before but after finding this one that doesn’t cake on my face, I am OBSESSED. I will never leave home without concealer if I’m wearing make-up because I have a lot of stress pimples so I need to get rid of those without harming my skin. If I’m not mistaken, this retails for about R49,95.

My Top Essence Nail Polish Picks For Spring

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to a brand new blog post. Yes, I know I’ve really been slacking but as most of you know, I’m writing my drivers test next week. I am beyond scared but when I got home from my lesson I was alerted that I had won a hamper from Beauty Bulletin! I’m going to keep it a secret but if you head over to my Instagram: sincerelydeeanne you will know what it is!

I wanted to share my top picks for Spring from Essence Cosmetics. I love Essence because I feel that it’s an extremely affordable option for students on a budget. I personally paint my nails every Sunday and this will be good for 3 – 4 days if you use it in conjunction with the base and top coat. The nail polishes retail at about R27 at Clicks or Dischem.

I just wanted to point out that I do live in South Africa. I know most people are moving into the Fall season, however I am in the Southern Hemisphere so we are moving into Spring and Summer.

From left to right:

Essence I Heart Trends, The Nudes range in 09 You’re So Beautiful: This nude is my favourite out of my selection because I love natural looking nails. I like to cut my nails short and then paint them with this colour. It’s natural, neat and pretty darn amazing. What impressed me the most was that this one was not prone to chipping and I love a chip free polish.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 08 Whatever!: A bright and playful pink, which reminds me of bubblegum. I love wearing this on my toes more than my fingers but I feel that this one needed more than one coat in order to give of that bright pink finish. Love it still and would definitely recommend it.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 21 A Whisper of Spring: I think the name says it all. A very light lavender which looks amazing on both toes and fingers. I love how soft the colour is and very girly.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Play With My Mint: This bright mint colour looked really appealing on the shelf and I loved how it looked on my fingers. I must say this one did chip which for me was a bit of an oopsie but it happens and I did get a new one.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Wild White Ways: Soft white is my favourite go-to when painting my nails if I’m not in the mood for a colour. It reminds me of the Kardashians in a way because that’s Kim’s favourite colour to wear on her nails.

Do you have any polish recommendations? Would you like a Fall Essence Nail Polish Pick? Let me know in the comments.

20 Things I’d Like To Do Now That I’m 20

Hello my amazing readers, I cannot believe it’s that time again where I’m sitting down in front of my laptop and just writing a post for you guys. I am beyond excited to announce that my Kendall Jenner Inspired Red Lip Tutorial has been featured on Yardley London South Africa’s Instagram Page! You can find their profile by looking up yardleylondon_sa and leaving me some love if you would like to x. Also: I am filming a Q&A for my YouTube channel so if you’d like to leave me questions in the comments then please feel free to do so.

For those of you who didn’t know, I turned 20 on the 8th of August 2016 and this basically means that I am no longer a teenager and slowly but surely making my way into the adult world. I’ve come up with a few goals or things that I would personally like to achieve during my 20’s and I just want to inspire others to set goals for themselves and make the most out of life. Let me know if you have any goals you’ve set out for yourself in the comments!

  1. Get My Driver’s License: This is my number one priority at the moment and I am so so nervous to complete my driver’s test this month. I feel that this would be an amazing way to enter into my adult phase as having your driver’s gives you a sense of freedom and responsibility. Please keep your fingers crossed for me this month!
  2. Travel: Being someone who has never been overseas yet, I’m very keen on traveling and getting a job in order to save money and just explore new places and try new things. I promised myself that I’ve always wanted to go into a career that involves a lot of traveling to make up for what I’ve missed out on. Wanderlust is too real out here!
  3. Get My Degree: I am a double major in English and Language and Communication Studies, so I am always forced to work extremely hard because in South Africa, BA and English Degrees are not given enough credit and it is often difficult to find work. A degree would mean a great sense of accomplishment for me so I would love to obtain this and add it to the office wall in my future home.
  4. Intern at Cosmopolitan or  any other fashion/beauty magazine: Although Cosmopolitan is top of my list, I wouldn’t mind interning for a beauty or fashion related magazine. I firmly believe that experience is everything in my industry and you can never have too much experience, however you can be over-qualified. How I see it is that I’m going to obtain my degree, intern and then complete my post grad in journalism. There are bursaries available to help with this and if I do obtain a bursary I walk straight into a job after my studies. Hard work never killed anyone!
  5. Own my own apartment: As much as I love being around my family, when I turned 20 I suddenly felt the need for my own personal space. Having no personal space in my house can be very frustrating sometimes and it’s not the best of situations. I hope to have my own place before the age of 25.
  6. Get Married: I know life is unpredictable and I’m not the type of person to set my heart on someone quickly but my family usually get married around 23-29 and I’ve always been in love with the idea of love.
  7. Have my first child: To be honest, I want this more than anything. I’ve had baby fever for the longest time and I love children so no surprise here.
  8. Learn a new language: I hope that with traveling and going to new places, I am able to absorb the culture and learn new languages along the way. I find learning to be so much fun and very interesting so this is a must for me
  9. New experiences: I would love to try new things and start going to various events. Being someone with social and actually wanting to put myself out there, it’s a very scary thought and exciting at the same time.
  10. Conquer my fear of putting myself out there: When I was bullied throughout high school, I was in such a bad place that when I transitioned to university it was really difficult for me to make friends and to this day I can’t start a conversation unless someone talks to me. I just want to get over this because it ruins so many aspects of my life and it’s time that I do things for myself.
  11. Win a competition: If you follow me on snapchat (just_deeanne) you would know that yesterday I posted a snap saying that I have never won a competition in my life. I feel I’m going to enter all the competitions I can and hopefully win something.
  12. Take my mom & grandma on the vacation of their dreams: A lot of my success I owe to my grandma and my mom. They were always there for me in the sense that they always pushed me to do better and never t give up. I honestly don’t think I would be at university if it were not for my grandma and my mom. Thank you ladies.
  13. Grow spiritually and deeper in my faith: I love God and everything about my religion, I just want to be spiritual on a much deeper level and just reach a point in my faith where I can honestly say I’m happy where I am.
  14. Go to a music festival: I’ve always wanted to go to ULTRA or just a music festival in general and enjoy myself and live it up.
  15. Adrenaline Sport FTW: I will bungee jump, water ski or white water raft before I turn 30 and this is not optional.
  16. Maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle: I’ve recently started eating so much healthier and exercising regularly. It feels so good to know that my body is in good shape and that I’m no longer lethargic and eating unhealthily.
  17. Go camping or on a road trip with a bunch of friends: This has always been one of the goals I’ve always wanted to achieve. Friendship is important to me in so many ways and I can’t wait to do this.
  18. Be financially independent: I never want to ask anyone for money and I want to work as hard as I possibly can so that I can be financially independent and never have to look at the price tag on an item of clothing ever again.
  19. Become the editor in chief of a magazine: The ultimate goal. YAAAS.
  20. Be happy with life and myself in general: I think that everyone should aspire to be happy with life and just happy with themselves in general.

See you next time lovely!
