Bring Out Your Bold With The New Labello Bold Blackberry Shine! x RubyBox Beauty

Hello beautiful and welcome back to my blog!

–Where have I been?–

Well, for the past few days I have been preparing for my upcoming exams, including one I am writing tomorrow. Yet, here I am in my room up late at night to bring you this blog posts. Exams has certainly ruined my sleeping patterns!

One thing I hate about exams is that when I get stressed, my skin starts to show it and my lips become extremely chapped. My saviour? The new Labello Bold Blackberry Shine Lip Balm!

Rubybox Beauty approached me a while back to add me to their bloggers database and asked if I would review products from time to time. Being the avid reviewer that I am, I could not turn down such an amazing opportunity. If you would like to check out there website then simply click here — and please note that this review company is only valid to those living in South Africa, however you can still see the amazing website and have a look at the review community.

I loved the packaging of the new flavour. It was like unwrapping a gift on Christmas! You had to pull the tab open to see the products inside. I loved the vibrant pop of colour and how it was packaged. It was bold (see what I did there…). To see my Bold look that I created, you can view my Instagram post here Labello is currently running a competition where if you buy your pack in store, you’ll find a cellphone number underneath the lip balm on the package and you can send your Bold recreations (outfit, make-up, hair etc.) to the number and stand a chance to win amazing prizes.

Inside the package were 3 little Labello Bold lip balms, RubyBox was so kind and sent me 2 boxes. In total, I have 6 Labello Bold lip balms, but I won’t be saying anything about where they might be going (Christmas Giveaway, Maybe?). The lip balm itself is small and convenient to pop into your purse, or if you’re a student like me then your compartment in your backpack. The lip balm is a “twist-up” which is great for me because I hate getting lipbalm under my nails when they’re in containers.

Before I used the Blackberry Shine, I used the Labello Blueberry Blush Lip Butter which is my all time favourite lip balm. Although the flavours are similar, they vary in a few ways.

  • The Blueberry Blush has a soft Blueberry scent, which reminds me of blueberry sweets in a way and if I had no idea what flavour it was I wouldn’t really guess berry at first. The new Labello Bold has a bold blackberry scent, one where if you had a whiff (and trust me I can’t stop sniffing my lips when I have this on) then you would automatically associate the smell with blackberries.
  • The BB Blush is a container, the BB Bold is a twist up.
  • BB blush is lighter in colour while BB Bold is a dark purple colour pictured below.

And to answer the question you may have, yes. This lip balm does leave a tinge of purple on your lips after application (my boyfriend was not happy when I gave him this one after losing his one but I think it’s cute).

Overall, I’m not going to lie. Although I was picked to review this product, I’ll always love Labello as a product because they’re the only lipbalm I use as it doesn’t irritate my lips. I will however leave my thoughts here:

  • I love the packaging: easy to access and store away.
  • Love the colour. Vampy is my go to when winter comes around but is always fun to play with. Perfect if you would like to add colour without going overboard.
  • The smell is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Like, go buy one and sniff it now please.
  • Pricing is about R21,00 which I appreciate as I am a student and don’t always have money to splurge on things that I actually need.
  • Does not irritate my lips. I HATE menthol and other strongly scented lip balms because they tend to make my lips tingle then dry them out.

Let me know what you think of the new Labello Bold, head over to my Instagram too so you don’t miss out on my Labello Bold demo which I will be uploading on Saturday to my IG.

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 9 – January Beauty Favourites

Hello everyone! I am so happy to be writing again, I feel so proud that I haven’t missed a day of the 30 day blogging challenge and I am seeing a huge improvement in my blog. I’m feeling a little bit under the weather today because I found out that I am allergic to acai! I broke out in the worst skin rash after drinking a smoothie with acai in it.

All that aside I just wanted to put out there that someone left a petty comment on my blog saying that I’m illiterate because I don’t spell “favourite” properly. For those of you who don’t know, I live in South Africa and we do not use American English so most words commonly spelt with an “o” we add a “u” for example “neighbourhood, colour, favourite”. Just thought I’d put it out there for some of you who are confused.

MY JANUARY FAVES:

All photos are my own and were edited myself, I worked really hard on it and editing them. It took a lot of time to research how to take and edit my photos so I hope you enjoy.

Beauty Treats Prism Party Eye Shadow Palette:

I received this palette from my mom for Christmas and I was a bit skeptical at first because I’ve used a lot of eye shadows but I haven’t found one I’m in love with. I really like the colour pay off this provided me with. I haven’t really had a chance to play with the brighter neon colours but I use the white in the corner of my eyes to give me the “more awake” effect. I’m really impressed.

Charlie 8 Pan Eyeshadow – Neutrals

Another Christmas gift I have been absolutely loving at the moment would definitely be this neutrals palette from Charlie. I love their Rocking Curls Mascara as well but it’s really been through the ringer and didn’t look good at all on camera. Colour pay off is really important to me when I purchase shadows as I’ve mentioned before and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Garnier BB Cream In Medium:

This is something I’ve tried out of curiosity and then fell in love with it. I’ve been using it for about a year already due to the fact that I don’t like heavy foundations. I have sensitive skin and don’t like to put too much product on my face so this is great for everyday use. Love how lightweight it is because I can’t even feel it on my face, it evens out my face and moisturizes at the same time. Love, love, love it!

Yardley London 16 Hour Airbrush Foundation – Natural:

For the days when I feel like going out and need more coverage than usual I opt for the Yardley London foundation. I had to be colour matched in the store because for the life of me I just can’t pick out foundations myself. I felt like this shade works best for me and it’s not as heavy as most foundations are. This has to be my favourite foundation by far.

Labello Lip Butter – Blueberry Blush:

I suffer from dry lips, especially when I’m sick or in winter. Most of the time I feel like chapsticks tend to make it worse but after trying the Labello lip butter I am completely blown out of the water. I love wearing this underneath my lip products so that it doesn’t dry my lips out and I love keeping this in my handbag for when I’m on the go and feel a little dry. Not only is it inexpensive but it really does work.

Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil in 02 – Brown:

I’ve never really been on the eyebrow wagon but I’ve decided to give it ago. Due to the fact that my hair is dark I thought black would look the most natural but it didn’t and actually made my eyebrows look weird but I didn’t experience this problem with brown. I love the brush it comes with because the bristles are dense and tame my wild brows.

What’s your fave January product?
