My Top Essence Nail Polish Picks For Spring

Hi Everyone!

Welcome back to a brand new blog post. Yes, I know I’ve really been slacking but as most of you know, I’m writing my drivers test next week. I am beyond scared but when I got home from my lesson I was alerted that I had won a hamper from Beauty Bulletin! I’m going to keep it a secret but if you head over to my Instagram: sincerelydeeanne you will know what it is!

I wanted to share my top picks for Spring from Essence Cosmetics. I love Essence because I feel that it’s an extremely affordable option for students on a budget. I personally paint my nails every Sunday and this will be good for 3 – 4 days if you use it in conjunction with the base and top coat. The nail polishes retail at about R27 at Clicks or Dischem.

I just wanted to point out that I do live in South Africa. I know most people are moving into the Fall season, however I am in the Southern Hemisphere so we are moving into Spring and Summer.

From left to right:

Essence I Heart Trends, The Nudes range in 09 You’re So Beautiful: This nude is my favourite out of my selection because I love natural looking nails. I like to cut my nails short and then paint them with this colour. It’s natural, neat and pretty darn amazing. What impressed me the most was that this one was not prone to chipping and I love a chip free polish.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 08 Whatever!: A bright and playful pink, which reminds me of bubblegum. I love wearing this on my toes more than my fingers but I feel that this one needed more than one coat in order to give of that bright pink finish. Love it still and would definitely recommend it.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 21 A Whisper of Spring: I think the name says it all. A very light lavender which looks amazing on both toes and fingers. I love how soft the colour is and very girly.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Play With My Mint: This bright mint colour looked really appealing on the shelf and I loved how it looked on my fingers. I must say this one did chip which for me was a bit of an oopsie but it happens and I did get a new one.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Wild White Ways: Soft white is my favourite go-to when painting my nails if I’m not in the mood for a colour. It reminds me of the Kardashians in a way because that’s Kim’s favourite colour to wear on her nails.

Do you have any polish recommendations? Would you like a Fall Essence Nail Polish Pick? Let me know in the comments.

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 13 – Sorbet Spa Escape Lazy Days Sea Botanicals

Hey Everyone (:

Firstly I’d like to apologize for not putting up day 13 and 14 of the 30 day challenge because I went to the doctor last night because I haven’t been feeling too well lately and I was diagnosed with an ear infection so I am currently really sick. I honestly thought my head was going to explode yesterday because I’ve never had a migraine that intense. It was honestly the scariest thing and I was in tears because it hurt so bad.

On with the review and just a side note that I am recovering, my head is still a bit sore and I tend to want to pull my ears off every 5 minutes but I am on medication and slowly but surely dealing with it.

So this is what the Sorbet Spa Escape Gift Box looks like:

I do apologize for the lighting in my photos but the weather has been so bad lately and I use natural lighting for my photos so that didn’t really help much.

This was a gift from my boyfriend’s brother for Christmas and I never really purchased anything from Sorbet before except their range of nail polishes so I was pretty excited to try it out. Basically the set includes: A R50 gift card only applicable to acrylics and a facial, a body spritzer, hand and nail cream and a nail buffer.

Sorbet Revitalize Body Spritzer:

I love body spritzers for when I feel like I need to freshen up on hot days or when I go to the beach so this one is definitely coming with me to campus this year. The smell is more of a sweet almost candy-like fragrance that reminds me of those bath salts I used when I was a kid or some sort of candy. I wouldn’t wear this every single day though because the smell is a little bit too strong for my liking but will definitely use it for those hot and bothersome days!

Nourishing Hand & Nail Cream:

This one has a similar scent to the spritzer but it a bit softer. I really wouldn’t mind keeping this in my essentials bag or my handbag for that matter because nobody likes that feeling of dry hands. I’d definitely give this product a 10/10 when it comes to softening my hands. Works like a charm and has a great fragrance.

Nail Buffer:

Not going to lie, the nail buffer wasn’t really anything special to me but because I love treating my hands to a mani now and then, this will definitely come in handy.

All in all? Great job, Sorbet!

I’m looking forward to getting those acrylics now (:

30 Day Blogging Challenge: Day 10 – My Fave Nail Polishes

I should probably start off this post by saying no, this post is NOT sponsored by Sorbet or any other brand for that matter. Side note: Has anyone ever heard of Glambassador or has been contacted by them before? Just want to know if it’s legit (:

Hi everyone, we are a third of the way through the 30 day blogging challenge and I am coming to you today with another favourites post. Today I’ll be talking about my fave nail polishes at the moment.

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM:

Essence The Gel Nail Polish – 21 A Whisper of Spring: I’ve been wanting to try a light lavender shade for the longest time and I’ve tried nail polishes from Essence before and I must admit they chip really quickly. With the gel polish and my gel coat from Sorbet I don’t experience that problem and it’s a really great colour pay off and the consistency isn’t too watery.

Sorbet – Red Light: Probably my favourite shade out of all the ones featured in this post. Great cherry red colour and it’s such a deep colour without the watery consistency as I’ve mentioned before and I really like that after 1 coat, it was good enough to go.

Sorbet – Blush: Such a cute and girly colour without being too obvious. Great for a nude look and just so soft which I adore. I received this in a set of 3 along with red light and the gel coat as a gift from Matthew’s (my boyfriend) mom. It even came with a cute travel case for your nail polishes.

Sorbet – Vanilla Ice: I’ve tried many blue nail polishes before but this one definitely blew me away. I really like soft colour nail polishes because I feel like I have fat fingers so I don’t like to attract attention to my fingers very often. Colour pay off I would rate a 7/10 due to the fact that you have to apply 2-3 coats to get the shade you want.

Sorbet – Pink Cheeks: A bright pop of pink which I wear when I feel more daring and usually I will wear this colour on my toes. It’s a fun and flirty colour.

Sorbet – Gel Top Coat: I think that what I loved the most about this gel coat is that I can remove it with nail polish remover and it comes off really easy. That way I don’t damage my nails which often leads to breakage and sometimes my nails won’t grow at all after a gel mani which is why I tend to stay away from those.

Hope you enjoyed! Any post suggestions?
