It is definitely that time of year again where the cold sets in and to make my face look less pale I have to wear the darkest colour (or in this case, somewhat dark) to make myself look a little bit presentable. I was recently gifted 2 Yardley Ultra Kissable Super Moist lipsticks and I was more than just impressed. Not only does the lipstick moisturize my lips, but also adds a great pop of colour to any plain or glam look. I’ve inserted various pictures of the lipstick itself, swatches and how it looks on my lips (unfortunately I’ve only worn Coco in the picture below). The names of the Yardley lipsticks are Burnt Plum and Coco, although Coco is more of a dark red than a brown.
Swatched side by side, or in this case above and below each other, burnt plum at the top and coco at the bottom
Here are some images from a date night I went on recently with my boyfriend of 3 years, Matthew. I am pictured wearing the shade Coco.
Before the date night:
I did not have a liner in this shade so please excuse my messy lines, but I can assure you it looks really good. And I may or may not have eaten when this was taken so this is what it looks like AFTER I ate which is great because it hardly budged or disappeared and I didn’t feel the need to apply more since I was home already.
I hope you enjoyed my little selection of winter lipsticks to hopefully add to your own collection. What’s your fave shade for winter?
I really wanted to feature a DIY and Beauty segment on the blog and I decided that I would list a few of my favourite face mask recipes. Not only are these so inexpensive to make but most of the ingredients are natural which is great because we don’t use any chemicals on our face. Let’s get started!
LEMON AND HONEY FACE MASK:
2 tablespoons of honey
In a bowl, squeeze out the half a lemon and then add 2-3 tablespoons of honey until an even consistency is formed. Apply directly to the face avoiding the eye area and leave on for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off.
OILY SKIN SOLUTION:
1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 egg white
Combine all ingredients to form a paste, apply to skin, obviously avoiding the eye area and wait for it to dry then rinse off with cold water.
HONEY OATMEAL BLAST:
2 Tablespoons of honey
2 Tablespoons oatmeal
1 Tablespoon of plain yogurt
Mix all ingredients together and apply to a clean, dry face avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5-15 minutes and rinse off.
Hope you enjoyed my easy DIY face masks, I’ll be back tomorrow with another post.
Hey Everyone (:
Firstly I’d like to apologize for not putting up day 13 and 14 of the 30 day challenge because I went to the doctor last night because I haven’t been feeling too well lately and I was diagnosed with an ear infection so I am currently really sick. I honestly thought my head was going to explode yesterday because I’ve never had a migraine that intense. It was honestly the scariest thing and I was in tears because it hurt so bad.
On with the review and just a side note that I am recovering, my head is still a bit sore and I tend to want to pull my ears off every 5 minutes but I am on medication and slowly but surely dealing with it.
So this is what the Sorbet Spa Escape Gift Box looks like:
I do apologize for the lighting in my photos but the weather has been so bad lately and I use natural lighting for my photos so that didn’t really help much.
This was a gift from my boyfriend’s brother for Christmas and I never really purchased anything from Sorbet before except their range of nail polishes so I was pretty excited to try it out. Basically the set includes: A R50 gift card only applicable to acrylics and a facial, a body spritzer, hand and nail cream and a nail buffer.
Sorbet Revitalize Body Spritzer:
I love body spritzers for when I feel like I need to freshen up on hot days or when I go to the beach so this one is definitely coming with me to campus this year. The smell is more of a sweet almost candy-like fragrance that reminds me of those bath salts I used when I was a kid or some sort of candy. I wouldn’t wear this every single day though because the smell is a little bit too strong for my liking but will definitely use it for those hot and bothersome days!
Nourishing Hand & Nail Cream:
This one has a similar scent to the spritzer but it a bit softer. I really wouldn’t mind keeping this in my essentials bag or my handbag for that matter because nobody likes that feeling of dry hands. I’d definitely give this product a 10/10 when it comes to softening my hands. Works like a charm and has a great fragrance.
Not going to lie, the nail buffer wasn’t really anything special to me but because I love treating my hands to a mani now and then, this will definitely come in handy.
All in all? Great job, Sorbet!
I’m looking forward to getting those acrylics now (:
